How To Pack Wine Glasses

Do you have some valuable customized wine glasses that you need to move to a different location? Use this guide to pack and move the wine glasses properly.

Step 1: Find The Proper Box

One of the most crucial factors in keeping your glasses secure and in one piece is selecting the right box. You will need to find a box that is big enough and also secure enough for the valuable wine glasses. It is recommended to find a box that has double thick walls for added protection.

Step 2: Gather Packing Materials

Once you have picked out the right-sized box, you will need to gather some packing materials to wrap around the wine glasses. Start by using a lot of packing paper, then add some cardboard inserts inside the box.

Step 3: Wrap Wine Glasses

Place a wine glass horizontally on packing paper. Begin by grabbing a corner of the packing paper and roll the glass into the paper. Tuck the sides of the paper inwards, the same way you would wrap a burrito. Roll the glass along the paper until the end of the paper is reached. Next, place the wrapped glass back on a different piece of paper and rolled it again horizontally. Repeat this step 3-5 times until the glass is properly cushioned and secure. Make sure to label the box on the outside so it is handled with care.

Step 4: Pack And Pad

Cushion the bottom of the box with packing paper before placing the wrapped glasses in the box. If you intend on utilizing the carboard inserts, then position one layer of inserts on top of the packing paper. Place the wrapped glasses into each cardboard insert. Simply place the glasses vertically in one layer in the box, if you are not using inserts. Place them standing up instead of lying flat. The glasses will be far more secure when placed vertically.

Step 5: Layer And Repeat

After the first layer has been completed, place packing paper on top. Place the glasses vertically and add more inserts. Repeat these layers until the box is completely packed and full.

Step 6: Fill Empty Spaces

Fill any remaining empty spaces with extra packing paper. This layer of extra paper will add extra cushion to protect from any potential movements.

Step 7: Tape Securely

Securely tape the box. Mark the box as “fragile” if you are leaving it for movers.
